Two events in one week:
Occasionally riders ask how we are able to run two events in one week. This is because the current Rule for riding over the course is that "no competitor may have practised on any of the obstacles to be used in the competition for four weeks before the competition."

A competition does not allow for schooling. This is why riders may not stay on the course and continue to try and jump an obstacle after a refusal. They may not school on the course when staying at the venue before or after the event.

In all likelihood, without practice, this horse will again refuse at the same or a similar jump in the second event course. it is also the reason why Sydney (at SIEC) Eventing changes the courses between the two competitions.
