COMPETITORS
- Riders and owners of all horses competing at Pre Novice or above must
be full members of the EFA. Riders competing in Preliminary & Introductory
classes must be associate or full members of the EFA, or members of
the host club.
- Horses competing at Pre Novice or above must be registered with the
EFA in their respective states and in possession of a current grading
card. They must be entered in their registered names.
- Horses must be at lest 4 years of age to compete in any One Day Event.
- Age of Competitors:
-3star: Open to any rider in the year of their 18th birthday and over
-2star: Open to any rider in the year of their 16th birthday and over
-1star: Open to any rider in the year of their 14th birthday and over
-Pre Novice: Open to any rider in the year of their 13th birthday and
over
-Prelim: Open to any rider in the yar of their 12th birthday and over
-Intro: Open to any rider in the year of their 11th birthday and over
-Junior & Young Rider classes: Organising committees may conduct
classes for Junior or Young Riders at Pre Novice or Novice level. The
horse and rider must both be qualified to compete at that level. Junior
classes may also be conducted at Preliminary and Introductory level.
- Riders and owners of competing horses and their helpers must, under
penalty of elimination, obey any order or direction given to them by
any responsible official. They must not do anything liable to upset
or hinder the undisturbed progress of the competition.
- Competitions must adhere to the order of starting drawn up by the
organisers for every phase, under penalty of elimination.
ENTRIES
- Entries to One Day Events are accepted on the understanding that riders
and owners will abide by these General Regulations and the National
Eventing Rules September 2002 and any amendments thereto.
- A rider with more than one horse in a class must state on the entry
form the order in which he/she wishes to ride or must abide by the order
of the draw.
- No horse may be substituted after the close of entries unless the
organisers agree.
- There is no right to a late entry although some clubs may accept same
on payment of a late fee.
- Riding down one level from a higher level for which a horse is qualified
carries no penalty. Riding down two or more levels will incur twenty
penalties to be added to the total of faults for the three phases.
- Withdrawals prior to the close of entries will be refunded with no
more than 10% deducted as an administration fee.
- There will be no refund of entries for withdrawals after the close
of entries.
- Withdrawals must be made by 4.00 pm on the day preceding the event
or as stated in the schedule. Competitors who do not declare their intention
to withdraw are liable to a penalty at the discretion of the ENSW committee.
- It is the responsibility of all riders to complete the waiver on the
Official Entry Form (or make such an undertaking electronically in the
case of Internet entries). Competitors under the age of 18 must obtain
the signature of a parent or guardian.
THE COMPETITION
- All events will be run in accordance with the National Rules for Official
Horse Trials, July 2002 and any amendments thereto.
- Neither the Organising Committee, the EFA, Eventing NSW, the Club
or the owner(s) of the property accepts any liability whatsoever for
any accident, damage, injury or illness to horses, owners, riders, ground
spectators or any other person or property.
- The Organising Committee reserves the right to:
- Cancel any class or event
- Divide any class
- Transfer competitors between sections of a class
- Alter the advertised times
- Refuse any entry, with or without stating a reason
- Reduce the scale of prizes, and/or prize money, where insufficient
entries are received.
- Standard back number holders shall be used. These are available from
the ENSW secretary and at some events.
- Riders must wear a medical arm band containing correct, up to date
information in the cross country phase of every event.
- It is the competitor's responsibility to compete only on horses that
are free from the influence of drugs. ENSW may conduct a drug testing
program at any event. This shall be carried out under the supervision
of the Council and implemented as a random program. Any horse competing
may be asked to present to an official veterinarian for testing. If
drugs are detected from the testing, penalties will apply. Riders are
subject to ASDA doping regulations and may be tested at any time.
- Queries must be made in writing on the official form available from
the Event Secretay.
- Objections will only be accepted from the owner, his authorised agent
or the rider of the horse involved and must be on the prescribed form.
Objections must be accompanied by a deposit of $50. This will be refunded
if the objection is upheld or if the EFA stewsard and Appeals Committee
determines there were good and reasonable grounds for the objection.
Objections must be made no later than half an hour:
- after the happening which gave rise to it,
- of marks in dispute being issued,
- before the start of the phase in question where qualification of competitors
is involved..
-.no later than four hours before the advertised starting time of the
phase in the case of the cross country course.
- The Riders Safety Committee shall be responsible for liaison with
the TD concerning all matters of rider safety on the cross country.
A list of committee members shall be displayed on the notice board at
all events.
